Exo vans have always been among the most expensive cars in the world, but the latest model, the Mercedes-AMS-GV, could change that.
While its price tag isn’t too high for a midsize SUV, its performance isn’t.
It has a 5.5-liter V8 engine that delivers an output of 505 horsepower and 500 pound-feet of torque.
That puts it in the same class as the Mercedes AMG E63 AMG and the AMG G63, but Mercedes-amg has taken a different approach to power.
Instead of relying on a larger cylinder head, Mercedes-Amg has opted to use a smaller cylinder head and an engine that uses a more efficient turbocharger.
The result is a car that’s more power efficient, but has much lower emissions, according to Mercedes- AMG.
“The turbocharged engine is a completely different approach than the turbocharged version of the Mercedes Benz E63,” said Mercedes- Amg’s vice president of powertrain development, Christian Nissen.
“The powertrain has a significantly smaller size and lower weight.”
While Mercedes-ams-G VAN is an interesting addition to the Mercedes lineup, it’s not the only Ultraarange SUV out there.
A Mercedes-Alfa Romeo-powered AMG SUV called the AMX-Class is also expected to make its debut in the future.
However, Mercedes has yet to unveil any details about the new Ultraarang exo SUV.
