The band Van Halens own Twitter is based on their name and has become something of a social media phenomenon.
Now they’ve announced they’re launching their own account on Twitter – with the Van Halents logo!
In an interview with News24, Van Halent frontman Nicky Wire said: “I think it’s pretty cool and we’re not just going to just go, ‘Oh, we’ll just have this and that’.
I’m not going to do that.”
Van Halent has been tweeting on Twitter for more than a year, and now have a team of 30 dedicated to the platform.
The band tweeted about the new account:”We have been tweeting our thoughts and opinions on Twitter in recent years.
This is the first time that we’ve done this.
So now we have our own official Twitter account.”
Nicky Wire, Van HALEN frontmanThe band tweeted that the account was set up with the help of a Twitter expert.
The tweet read:”@NickyWire: It was a huge honour to set up our own Twitter @VanHalent.
@NickyWallpaper #VanHalentsTwitter”Nicky has been working with Twitter to bring a wider range of services to its platform.
She’s also a fan of the band’s new album, The Perfect Storm, which was released earlier this year.
“I’m excited to see what they bring to the app and hopefully I’ll be able to take a few things to heart and see if they work for the band,” Nicky said.
Van Halens Facebook page has also been launched, with the band thanking fans on the page.
Nicky says the new Van Halence Twitter account is “really cool” and says she hopes fans can use the account to support the band on their journey.
“It’s a really cool way to support our fans, it’s a cool way for us to show that we’re alive, and it’s really cool for our fans to see that,” she said.
“So that’s really awesome, I love that they’re doing that and I’m so excited that they’ve done that and have really got our back and are continuing to support us.”
